Kitchen Renovation in Progress

Update on progress:

New appliances in stainless -- Samsung refrigerator, Kitchen Aid double wall ovens, Kitchen Aid dishwasher and JennAir gas cooktop for island.

Inside of oven is blue

Blanco silgranit undermount kitchen sink in Anthracite

Grohe Bridgeford pullout faucet in brushed nickel

Wallpaper has been removed and potential paint color chosen: Benjamin Moore Titanium

Potential choices for countertops still pending, but most likely a black granite or quartz (perimeter counters, raised bar and island) and honed white carrara marble for butler pantry. Back splash around perimeter will be marble subway tiles.

Update:

We did not do marble subway tiles as considered above -- thought the pattern of the marble going in so many directions would be too busy looking and bothering. Really wanted to do the backsplash with a slab of carrera (2 slabs really, one for each wall), but this was cost prohibitive, not due to the material so much as the additional cost of the individual cutouts for the electrical sockets -- there are 8 @ $75 each -- which put the total price above the budget, when added in with everything else. I was still sold on that look however, so my thought as an alternative was to go with 18" marble tiles, which when installed gives the look of a slab -- luckily the distance between countertop and shelf is exactly 18 inches. With only very thin (1/16") vertical seams every 18 inches, and the vertical direction of the veins, this works very well. As it turns out, the 1/2 inch depth of the marble tile works better for behind the faucet -- not sure if there would have been enough room behind our particular faucet for 3cm (or even 2cm) slab.
